Tristone Healthcare has brought some of the industry’s leading figures together to launch an independent safeguarding board.
The board, which is made up of seven independent members, will be responsible for observing and overseeing care and safeguarding matters for Tristone Healthcare’s portfolio of businesses.
These include ProCare Wales, Sportfit Support Services, CFS Care and Juventas Services.
The board includes some of the sector’s most highly regarded specialists, including chair, David Johnstone, who has 35 years’ experience in children’s services; Dr Lynne Wigens OBE – former director of patient safety and clinical quality at NHS Suffolk/ Primary Care Trust; and independent safeguarding consultant, Jane Foster, who was Westminster City Council’s safe organisations manager and local authority designated officer (LADO) for almost eight years.
‘As a business that is built on value-driven principles, it is critical that we instil a culture within our community businesses of identifying, responding and escalating risk relating to safeguarding. The independent safeguarding board is key to driving that culture,’ said chief operating officer, Rob Finney.
‘The board is made up of a perfect blend of expertise and experience – individuals who have placed the welfare of individuals, whether that’s young people or vulnerable adults, at the centre of their career. Our robust and unique approach to safeguarding will scrutinise performance, standards, legislation and will help to strengthen relationships with relevant stakeholders and external agencies, including Ofsted, CQC, the Department for Education and the Department of Health and Social Care.’
